Calligraphy installed at UNESCO Center

An exhibition featuring the calligraphy works of Mok Wa Kei, titled “Teaching and Learning”, will open at 6.30 p.m. on Thursday evening at the UNESCO Exhibition Center, according to a statement published yesterday by the Macau Foundation.

Mok Wa Kei is the 85th artist to participate in the Macao Artists Promotion Project. Born in 1950 in Macau, he spent his academic life working between Guangzhou and Macau.

Today, he holds several important positions at local associations, including being the president of the Macao International Cultural and Art Association.

To complement this exhibition, the Macau Foundation will hold a workshop on calligraphy designed for children and their parents at the UNESCO Center 10 a.m. on September 7.

Mok will lead the workshop, instructing participants in the various techniques of Chinese Calligraphy. Admission is free and all 10-year-olds and above and their parents are welcome.

The exhibition will be open to the public from September 5 to September 12, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will be held in the exhibition hall and the multifunctional hall of the Macau UNESCO Center. Admission is free of charge.
