The construction of the new pedestrian overpass along Avenida do Nordeste is set to begin today.
The project will be executed in phases and zones to reduce the impact on traffic flow in the surrounding areas. To minimize disruption, the work area will be progressively fenced off, expanding as needed to avoid large, concentrated construction zones.
As work progresses, lanes on Avenida do Nordeste and nearby roads will be gradually narrowed. The Traffic Bureau (DSAT) will adjust traffic measures to ensure minimal inconvenience to the public and accommodate travel needs.
The first phase of the construction involves prospecting and will take place on the sidewalk near La Baie Du Noble on Rua Central da Areia Preta, as well as in Jardim da Areia Preta and the central green separator of Avenida do Nordeste. This phase will also include partial sidewalk closures and the creation of temporary pedestrian crossings to facilitate the preparation for the next phase, which involves pile foundations and underground structure work, scheduled to begin in March 2025.
During construction, parts of Rua Central da Areia Preta and Avenida do Nordeste will be restricted, though some areas will remain open. LV
