Corporate bits |  MGM wins accolades at HR innovation awards 2017

Gaming operator MGM won one Gold and two Bronze Awards at the HR Innovation Awards 2017 organized by Human Resources Magazine, one of Asia’s leading publications on human resources (HR).

This also marks the second year in a row that MGM has been recognized for its continuous efforts in driving HR innovation and creating an engaging work environment.

This year’s HR Innovation Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner took place in Hong Kong on October 19, bringing industry leaders together to celebrate excellence within the HR profession.

The award attracted 112 entries from companies across different sectors. MGM was shortlisted as a top five finalist in eight different categories, and took home three awards: Excellence in Retention Strategy (Gold), Excellence in Employee Development (Bronze) and Excellence in Leadership Development (Bronze).

“With the opening of MGM Cotai […] we will increase our efforts to roll out creative HR initiatives, supporting the career and personal growth of our staff,” said Grant Bowie, chief executive officer and executive director of MGM China, in a press release.

Conrad Macao raises over MOP84,000 for breast cancer research

For the fourth consecutive year, Conrad Macao, Cotai Central has partnered with the International Ladies Club of Macao to host a charity lunch as part of the hotel’s 2017 “PINK Inspired” October campaign, which aims to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

This year’s event raised over MOP 84,000 for the campaign with the support of its major retail sponsors, according to a statement issued by Conrad.

Special guests at the lunch included Gloria di Parma, one of the lead dancers from Crazy Horse Paris’ Forever Crazy show; Hong Kong television actor and doctor Marcus Kwok, who acted as MC; and guest speaker Tove Vine, author and founder of ‘Miss Tove’s English Schools in China’.

The lunch was attended by more than 250 guests dressed in various shades of pink. They dined on a special pink-themed, three-course lunch created by the talented chefs at Conrad Macao, which included a glass of pink Véuve Clicquot champagne and a gift bag.
