The police authorities of Macau, Hong Kong and Guangdong performed a joint operation between May 9 and 13 to fight cross-border crime, the Unitary Police Service (SPU) informed in a statement.
During the coordinated operation conducted simultaneously in the three regions, the SPU, responsible for managing the operation of the Judiciary Police (PJ) and the Public Security Police Force (PSP), undertook several enforcement actions in games and entertainment centers, karaoke bars and Internet cafes.
Simultaneously, a number of road and traffic operations were conducted on the main roads of the territory.
As for results, the SPU noted that during this operation the Zhuhai and Macau authorities found a case of cross-border prostitution exploitation that resulted in the arrest of four people from mainland China, three of whom are suspected of prostitution exploitation and one who is suspected of selling drugs to the prostitutes.
The operation involved a total of 813 police officers.  A total of 255 people were investigated during this period, resulting in the prosecution of 92 of them for crimes such as criminal organization, aggravated offense to physical integrity, possession of prohibited weapons, drug trafficking, prostitution exploitation and kidnapping.
