Authorities have busted a drug trafficking operation, seizing over 119 grams of methamphetamine and arresting two Filipino suspects.

The suspects, identified as Pene, 42, and Bagaan, 37, were caught smuggling the drugs from Hong Kong into Macau on June 10, according to the Judiciary Police (PJ).

Pene, a non-permanent resident with a job in animal husbandry, was found with 88.8 grams of meth hidden in his underwear. Bagaan, a non-resident cleaner, had 30.6 grams concealed on his person.

The bureau had received intelligence a Filipino drug trafficking group was operating in the area. An investigation led them to the two men, who had traveled to Hong Kong to purchase the narcotics for resale in Macau, primarily targeting the Filipino community.

The drug bust took a substantial amount of dangerous drugs off the streets and will help disrupt drug trafficking networks, protecting the community.

Both suspects have admitted to drug use and trafficking during questioning, though they have refused to provide further information. Urine tests confirmed the presence of methamphetamine.

Pene will be charged with drug trafficking and possession. Bagaan faces an additional charge of improper possession of drug paraphernalia. The case has been handed over to the Public Prosecutions Office.

Authorities said they will trace the source of the drugs and investigate any other individuals involved in the operation. Staff Reporter
