DSPA received 2,500 wasted electronic equipment to date

The Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) has received more than 2,500 pieces of used electronic equipment since January 1, when the local government began a new recycling program for more types of electrical devices and appliances.

The new program allows more types of domestic appliances to be recycled, including refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, television sets, and computers.

Besides the aforementioned 2,500 electronic devices, the DSPA has also received nearly 700 large-scale domestic appliances.

The local government provides free door-to-door recycling collection services. Local individuals, schools, nonprofit organizations and government departments can call the DSPA between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday to Saturday to make an appointment for the collection services.

The environmental protection department urges members of the public to reconsider their own needs before purchasing new items or replacing current ones.
