Edmund Ho, the vice-chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), called for the CPPCC members in Macau SAR to implement the “spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC,” elaborate the positive effect to both sides and support the Macau CE and SAR governments in adhering to law-based administration.
The 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s national legislature, opened its first session Sunday morning at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
According to Ho, Chinese President Xi Jingping and the central government “always care about and support Macau’s prosperous development.” He said Macau SAR CPPCC members should support the SAR with the positioning of “one center, one platform, and one base”, enhance communication with all classes in Macau society, implement the work to bolster solidarity, help Macau integrate into the national development blueprint, accelerate the multiple and proper development of the economy, and promote the practice of ‘One country, two systems’ in Macau.
