Cargo ship runs aground near Amizade Bridge

According to the Marine and Water Bureau, a mainland transport cargo ship ran aground east of the Amizade Bridge on Monday. The bureau officers contacted the crew via radio as the boat passed beneath the bridge. The crew informed them that the 100-meter freighter had departed from Guangzhou and was bound for Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province. The ship was believed to have run aground when it veered off course when passing under the bridge. No injuries were reported. The ship resumed its journey on Monday afternoon.
