Garbage truck strikes over 30 vehicles
A garbage collection truck from CSR Macau-Companhia de Sistemas de Resíduos, Limitada damaged over 30 other vehicles parked on Estrada do Cemiterio during the early hours of August 20.
Although the reasons for the traffic accident are yet to be explained, the truck is understood to have traveled backward down the one-way street hitting first the sidewalk fence in front of Cemiterio de São Miguel Arcanjo and then striking a van that belongs to the Municipal Affairs Bureau, and finally a group of motorcycles parked further down the street.
According to a police officer from Public Security Police Force – Transit Department, the accident occurred at about 3:35 a.m. and the number of vehicles involved exceeds 30, mostly motorcycles.
Approximately two months ago and at around the same hour, a truck from the same company crashed a few meters away from this location into an old cafeteria on Avenida de Sidónio Pais.
