Famous Hong Kong-born singer-songwriter Coco Lee Man died at the age of 48 yesterday after committing suicide and remaining in a coma in hospital for three days.
Lee’s sister broke the news on social media last night, saying that the the 48-year-old had a long battle with depression in recent years and committed suicide on Sunday at her residence.
As cited in a report by The Standard, she was sent to the Queen Mary Hospital in unconscious state and was pronounced yesterday.
The report added that the family added that Lee’s condition deteriorated drastically over the last few months.
“Although, CoCo sought professional help and did her best to fight depression, sadly that demon inside of her took the better of her,” her family said.
