Lawmaker and president of Macau Hoteliers & Innkeepers Association, Cheung Kin Chung, told local media that he expects the local hotel occupancy rate to reach 90% during the coming festive season. He announced that the city has recently seen more affordable accommodation options. When intertwined with the series of events to be held during the period, tourists would likely stay longer in Macau, he predicted. He said that the workforce scarcity in the industry had “basically” been resolved. Currently, the city has 137 hotels that offer about 45,000 rooms, he added.
