IAS to evaluate arrangements for elderly public housing
The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) has said it will continue to evaluate a pilot project for older adult public housing, including rents. Responding to lawmaker Leung Sun Iok, the IAS said the standard rent for an older adult’s apartment is slightly below the market rate. Considering Macau’s real estate leasing market is generally priced based on building area, the bureau uses the leasing market calculation method to set rent for apartment accommodation units.
