IC book exchange starts today

02The Macau Public Libraries will kick off a book exchange initiative today as part of the “2016 Macau Library Week.”
According to a statement issued by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, this activity aims to promote reading habits within the population as well as to encourage residents who love reading to make friends through their love of books, as well as to share their own reading resources.
The campaign has a book collection period that will start today and will last until April 17. All residents are welcome to bring their books to the bureau’s libraries, receiving in exchange a stamped scorecard that can be used to trade books of equivalent value at an event to be held on April 23 and 24 at the Old Court Building located in Av. da Praia Grande.
At the collection point, the IC staff will categorize the books individually by their original price. The scoring method is one point for every MOP10. The maximum for each book or set is 100 points. All the books presented without a price indication will be counted as MOP10.
