Insurance firm donates MOP50,000 to local sports charity

A local insurance firm has run a cycling event over the past week (from Feb. 25 to Mar. 5) managing to raise MOP50,000 for the Macau Special Olympics (MSO).

In a statement, the organizer pointed out that during the event, participants rode their Brompton bicycles and explored the “beautiful scenery of Cotai”, in addition to having participated in various exciting activities and challenges to win grand prizes.

A total of 120 cycling enthusiasts participated in the two-week event, according to the statement.

HSBC Life, the organizer, made a donation to MSO through this event, in support of the MSO’s continued enhancement of their athletic training for their members with intellectual disabilities. The MSO has also pledged to equip them to participate in the international sport competitions representing Macau, which will also help them integrate into society. Some iconic local faces also took part in the charity event, such as local off-road runner Vivi Cheung as well as gymnast and Animal Flow local pioneer Clark Cheung.
