Earlier this month, MGM hosted the first “Celebrate Songkran in Macau” dinner in three years, which welcomed almost 200 guests from Thailand.
The celebration took place at the Vista of MGM Cotai and several representatives were present, including acting director of Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Ricky Hoi, President and Chief COO of MGM China Holdings Limited Hubert Wang and senior vice president of VIP Marketing of MGM Peter Chen.
“We believe that this Songkran celebration is a great occasion for our locals and visitors to learn and experience more about the Thai festive culture,” Ricky Hoi said, adding that Thailand was a ‘key tourism market [for] Macau.’
In light of Songkran being one of the most important new year events in Thailand, MGM incorporated some Thai culture elements into the celebration, including a singing performance from Thai artist and judge of The Voice Thailand, Jennifer Kim.
