Wynn is collaborating with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) as the integrated resort operator prepares for the opening of the Gourmet Pavilion at its Cotai property.
This collaboration, initiated in December 2024, aims to provide local residents with diverse job opportunities and foster the development of talent within the community.
In line with this initiative, Wynn has organized several catering job-matching sessions designed to attract local talent to the new project.
Positions such as chefs, sommeliers, service attendants, and other roles are being offered, with an emphasis on creating pathways for local employees to grow and integrate into the company’s workforce.
The job-matching events not only provide information on available roles but also feature interactive booths for jobseekers to engage directly with the company.
In addition to hiring local talent, Wynn has pledged to ensure that employees have access to career development opportunities.
According to the operator, over 10 local employees have already been promoted to key roles within the Gourmet Pavilion.
Fong Weng In, a manager at the Gourmet Pavilion, shared his experience of how Wynn’s management trainee program helped him develop professionally and personally, leading to his current position.
“I have been provided with various training opportunities since I joined Wynn’s management trainee program, which have maximized my benefit and growth in personal development, professional skills, and career development,” said Fong.
“I’m thankful to the company for offering me the opportunity to serve as a manager, allowing me to lead the Gourmet Pavilion team to continue providing guests with five-star extraordinary dining experiences,” he added.
Furthermore, the operator has launched local talent development programs in cooperation with DSAL, offering training and workplace practice to new employees.
Since its launch, nearly 100 local team members have been recruited through these programs, with nine new initiatives planned for the upcoming months.
These programs not only provide professional training but also create opportunities for advancement within the company.
For the past six months, Wynn has hired nearly 300 local employees and offered promotions to over 150 local team members.
Moreover, nearly 90% of Wynn’s current middle and senior management executives are local.
