MGM China has donated 500,000 surgical masks to the Macau SAR government to support their anti- epidemic initiatives, the gaming operator announced in a statement.
The company said that it is monitoring the Covid-19 epidemic situation and has rolled out a series of epidemic relief and preventive measures over the past week, cooperating with different sectors of the Macau community to combat the epidemic.
Presented by MGM China Holdings Limited CEO and executive director Grant Bowie, the masks were all given to the government at once and were received by Ao Ieong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture.
Pansy Ho, co-chairperson and executive director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said, “as part of the Macau community, MGM spares no effort to help protect everyone’s health and work for their well-being. Under the leadership of the Macau government, I strongly believe that we will win this battle against the epidemic in unity.”
Previously, the company also supplied frontline and service staff of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau and Caritas Macau with masks, disposable caps and other necessary items. It also distributed 1,000 supply kits to the elderly through the three organizations.
Earlier, MGM donated 20 million patacas in coordination with the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the SAR, to help Hubei province purchase preventive and medical supplies, as well as urgently needed materials and equipment.
