More jaywalkers in Q1

The police recorded 3,005 cases of jaywalking during this year’s first quarter, according to data from the Public Security Police (PSP). This is an increase of 6% compared to the same period last year. At the beginning of this year, authorities announced new rules for these cases, which led to a greater focus on offenders. The PSP has appealed to road users to follow Article 70 of the Road Traffic Law strictly, which states pedestrians should cross roads at indicated locations, such as zebra crossings.
