Pai Hsien-yung, talk on Kun opera at UM

On February 24 at 5 p.m. the University of Macau will confer the Doctor of Letters honoris causa degree on renowned writer Pai Hsien-yung in recognition of his contributions to Chinese literature and the art of Kun opera. Following the award ceremony, he will give an honorary doctorate lecture titled ‘My Kun Opera Journey.’ Prof. Pai has also produced a youth version of Peony Pavilion, a masterpiece of Kun opera that has been performed worldwide. An international academic conference on Chinese literature will be held on February 25 and 26.

Kun Sai Hoi reelected to ATEC

The inauguration ceremony for the 13th leadership team of the Professional Civil Servants Association of Macau (ATEC) was held recently. Kun Sai Hoi, elected as ATEC’s president in 2013, has retained his leadership. After the president swore the oath, the newly-established team proposed the establishment of four special departments, namely the Association Management Department, the Public Employment Affairs Department, the Communication Department, and the Development Department.
