2-R-marques-MG_1487The Portuguese School of Macau (EPM) is holding its Open Day tomorrow “with several kinds of activities available, from culture to arts and even passing through sports,” the vice-
president of the school, Zélia Mieiro, told the Times. The event is being held to show all of the interested parties the types of activities that are being developed by the school.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the EPM’s doors will be open and offering many activities. Special highlights will include “open classes” in the areas of Mathematics, English and Mandarin, while additional classes in the laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will give a real insight into the school curriculum, capabilities and equipment.
In sports, the “wall climbing” activity is very popular, being one of the school’s most recent additions to the sports facilities.
As for the moment of the day that is “not to be missed,” Zélia Mieiro elected the “Cultural Show,” an activity that will take place in the school’s gymnasium from noon until 1 p.m. This activity includes an act by a special group of singing teachers who call themselves “Canto Cantonense,” who will perform a song by famous Taiwanese pop singer Teresa Teng.
According to EPM’s vice-
president, this is a very important moment every year and this time will be no exception.
“We are visited by many of the parents of our students who want to know more and interact with the school activities, but [we have] also in recent years [been approached] by parents of students who speak the Chinese mother tongue, and who take this opportunity to get to know the whole school, its curriculum, and its activities.”
