The government has set the period for the payment of 2019’s road tax from January 1 to April 1.
All owners of motorized vehicles should proceed with the payment within the aforementioned dates to avoid a financial penalty for overdue payment, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) explained in a statement.
The bureau also reminds citizens that at the time of the payment, the vehicle owner or their representatives should be in the possession of the original vehicle registration card.
Payments can be made at any of the DSAT branches as well as at MSAR Service Centers and at the Financial Services Bureau, as well as at the Post Office, the Museum of Communications shop and at several banking institutions indicated by the government. The road tax is also payable online through the DSAT “epay” system website or mobile phone application.
the DSAT also reminds citizens that in order to proceed with the settlement of the annual road tax, the vehicle should have a clean record of any administrative offenses. The DSAT is calling on vehicle owners to verify and settle such matters prior to the payment of the road tax in order to avoid delays and hassles.
