As part of its environmental sustainability efforts under the Sands ECO360 global sustainability strategy, Sands China is sponsoring the Therapeutic Garden, a farming project created by the Manna for People Association.
The project aims to promote sustainability and provide a healing experience for the members of the Association for Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau (ARTM).
Around 80 Sands ECO360 ambassadors participated in workshops on April 15 and May 6 at the ARTM service center in Coloane’s Ka Ho village.
The 520-square-metre garden is being constructed on the rooftop of the service center, as part of an effort to raise awareness about mental health and sustainable living in Macau.
“Sands China is very proud to be the first integrated resort operator to provide support to ARTM’s Therapeutic Garden program, a unique and impactful initiative in the community,” Sands China’s executive Vice President of Operations Sean McCreery said.
The executive added that urban farming can contribute to building a green city, counteracting climate change, and supporting the local community.
