Shenzhen launched an online auction platform on Friday for its new international tuna trading center amid a push to develop the country’s aquatic products sector. Based on Internet Plus, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and big data technologies, the platform focuses on the innovation and development of online auctions, aiming to attract global high-end and high-quality aquatic products to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and form a regional price index. The first auction on the platform was completed after an Atlantic bluefin tuna weighing 204 kilograms was bought at a price of 57,324 yuan.
