The Macau University of Science and Technology, together with the Macau SAR Government, the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Macau and the China National Space Administration (CNSA), will launch the city’s first scientific satellite project this morning.
The project will be overseen by the university’s State Key Lab of Lunar and Planetary Sciences, and counts the support of the Macao Foundation and the China Space Foundation.
Due to the uniqueness and importance of the project, the university is organizing a ceremony, followed by a press conference, to announce the news.
The ceremony is expected to be officiated by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam, as well as the secretary general of the Liaison Office, Wang Xindong, deputy director of CNSA, Tian Yulong, and other representatives from the government.
