Tourism buses border gate entry ban extended

Starting from Feb. 22, entry of tourism buses through the east side of the Border Gate plaza will be banned between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The measure is meant to distribute traffic around the border gate, thereby relieving the transportation pressure in the vicinity. On Dec. 8, 2018, the DSAT implemented a policy which banned the entry of tourism buses in the indicated location between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Due to the effective control of traffic since the implementation in 2018, the DSAT made the decision to expand the policy to a daily operation.

Local expressionist to hold latest solo exhibition

The exhibition, “idle hands are the devil’s playthings – works by Crystal W. M. Chan”, will be inaugurated at the Macau Art Garden on Feb. 26. Organized by the Art For All Society, the exhibition will run until Apr. 2 and is open every day except Sundays and public holidays. Chan’s work carries strong influence from expressionism, in which she travels through the distorted lines of Egon Shiele to the color blocks of Edvard Munch. The artist uses melancholic color tones which overlay one another, creating emotional scenes that depict not reality but the “inner state of emotions,” according to exhibition organizers. “Her work evokes emotions that resonate with haunting memories and nostalgia,” added organizers. Chan has previously exhibited her artwork in solo exhibitions in Macau and New York.
