Due to COVID 19, many of us are stuck in Macau and could not travel anywhere. Nevertheless, many integrated resorts have prepared interesting options for those who would like to treat themselves during this special time of year.
MDT’s Lifestyle writer Irene Sam has picked a few festive delights for bon vivants.

Alain Ducasse at Morpheus

Two-Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at Morpheus is the pick for a French haute cuisine journey this festive season. The restaurant has two six-course celebration menus respectively for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The Christmas menu is a mix of signature and limited-time dishes of the establishment, including the Mediterranean gamberoni with delicate gelée and gold caviar, homemade truffled pasta, line-caught sea bass, free-range chicken from Bresse, Comté “Garde exceptionelle” 36 months, as well as the chocolate, coconut and lime Yule log. Each dish will be paired with an exquisite champagne and wine, such as 2009 Champagne Dom Pérignon Magnum, 2017 Sonoma County Chardonnay from Les Noisetiers Kistler, 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from Domaine Méo-Camuzet, and 2014 Vin de Constance from Klein Constantia.
For December 31 evening, the special menu starts with a splendid gold caviar trolley, followed by the hand-dived sea scallops, line-caught sea bass, free-range chicken from Bresse, Comté “Garde exceptionelle” 36 months, and the Chocolate from Ducasse’s Manufacture in Paris, pear and black truffle dessert. A half bottle of Dom Pérignon 2008 comes along to ring in the new year.

North by Square Eight at MGM Macau

Take your taste buds on a culinary tour of the tastiest dishes from northern and central China at North, a new dining concept under Square Eight at MGM Macau, bringing you quality, choice, creativity, authenticity and outstanding value for money under one roof.
Feast on your favorites, including hard-to-find cold appetizers, congees, noodles, pancakes, dumplings and signature dishes from Beijing, Dongbei, Hunan, Shandong, Shanghai, Sichuan, Xinjiang, Zhejiang and more. Along with popular meat dishes, the restaurant offers live seafood “cooked the way you like it” and a noodle station where you will be wowed by the noodle-pulling and cutting skills on display.
North will have you coming back to again and again.

Rejuvenating Treatments at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Macau

To melt away any stress and tension from the year, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Macau came up with the Jade Reviver treatment, which awakens the senses with jade and essential oils. A Restorative Bamboo Massage allows guests to sink into well-deserved rest and relaxation with rejuvenating herbal poultices and a warm bamboo massage. Last but not the least, discerning guests will appreciate the Caviar and Pearl Experience, a decadent ritual that uses caviar, pearl and chilled jade rollers to turn back the wheels of time.

Il Teatro at Wynn Macau

Il Teatro provides the perfect setting for a truly theatrical dining experience where guests can watch water dance in perfect unison with music at the Performance Lake. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the chefs at il Teatro will present a 5-course Festive Dinner including Foie Gras Terrine, Roasted Maitake Mushrooms with Black Truffle and Huntsham Farm Crispy Skin Suckling Pig with Mustard Pork Jus. For dessert, guests will be treated to a very special “Christmas Ornament” of Clementine, Chocolate and Gingerbread Ice Cream. For New Year’s Eve, il Teatro will prepare a very special 5-course dinner featuring the finest seafood and meat such as Hokkaido Scallop, Dungeness Crab Bisque, Rangers Valley Infinite M7 Wagyu Tenderloin and much more to welcome the arrival of a brand new year.

The Manor at St. Regis Macao

With an emphasis on the finest, sustainably-sourced ingredients from around the world, The Manor at St. Regis, Cotai is the perfect venue for every occasion where one may gather, celebrate and create memories. It is perfect for a festive season where family gatherings are traditionally at the top of the list. This year, St. Regis presents yet another extraordinary option: celebrate from home, The Manor-style.
Titled “Christmas Celebrations at Home,” patrons are given the opportunity to order from The Manor, where fresh ingredients from the land and sea are handled by the most capable hands and chemistry of Chef Michele.
Roasted butterball turkey with side dishes and sauce, and pomegranate glazed boneless gammon ham with side dishes and sauce are available, along with additional selected wines and Christmas desserts.
An order must be made 48-hours in advance for “The Takeaway Menu” and pick up is available at the restaurant.

The Kitchen at Grand Lisboa

Housed at the Grand Lisboa Hotel with spectacular views of the city, The Kitchen offers a grand atmosphere for this season’s family gatherings.
Based on a new concept for the modern steakhouse, the Michelin-starred restaurant features the best steak from around the world – Wagyu from Kagoshima and Australia, US prime beef and Dutch veal – and also offers a wide selection of non-meat dishes such as live fish and lobsters from the tank.
Special homemade bread and most of the entrées are prepared in flaming ovens in a contemporary show-kitchen setting. The steakhouse also offers a premium selection of sashimi from the sushi bar and features an extensive salad buffet as well as specialty homemade desserts.
There is no danger of running out of options for drinks to pair with your meal either, as The Kitchen has an extensive wine collection of over 17,000 labels.
