OSAKA SUMMIT The Group of 20 summit in Osaka this week will be Trump and Putin’s first meeting since special counsel Robert Mueller ended his investigation with no finding that the Trump campaign in 2016 conspired with Russia. The agenda remains a mystery, as still does the outcome of their last meeting, nearly a year ago in Finland.

CHINA criticized the U.S.’s efforts to enforce its law abroad following a Washington Post news report three Chinese banks might be penalized over dealings with North Korea. The banks named by The Post denied they were under investigation.

SINGAPORE Drones buzzing around Singapore’s Changi Airport have caused 63 flights to be delayed or diverted in the past week, triggering an investigation and raising questions about the motives of the offenders.

VIETNAM A court sentenced an American to 12 years in jail for what was described as an attempt to overthrow the Communist nation’s government. Michael Nguyen (pictured) was also convicted of inciting people to participate in protests with the intent to attack government offices in Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.

CAMBODIA A court said that seven people, including four Chinese nationals, have been charged with crimes related to a building collapse that killed 28 construction workers who were sleeping in the unfinished structure that doubled as their housing. 

PAKISTAN-QATAR Islamabad has thanked Qatar for the $3 billion investment in Pakistan announced by the energy-rich Gulf Arab nation’s ruler. An economic adviser to Pakistani prime minister, tweeted Pakistan’s thanks, hours after Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani (pictured) made the announcement, which was carried on Qatar’s official news agency.

BOSNIA Environmental groups called yesterday for urgent measures to combat air pollution in the central Bosnian city of Tuzla, saying dust concentration far exceeds legal limits and causes premature deaths. The activists also urged authorities in a report to scrap plans to build another coal-fired unit in addition to the local lignite power plant.

UK Boris Johnson embarked on a media blitz yesterday, hoping to shift the subject away from his private life and back to Britain’s pending departure from the European Union. Johnson has failed to appear at debates and has shunned the media before changing tack.
