343,000 visitors during Dragon Boat holiday break

The Dragon Boat Festival holiday period saw a significant influx of visitors to Macau, according to the city’s Public Security Police.

Between June 8 and June 10, 342,843 visitors entered Macau, representing a daily average of 114,280 arrivals.

June 9 saw the highest single-day visitor count, with 138,413 people arriving in the city.

June 10 was the actual Dragon Boat Festival public holiday, also known as Tuen Ng Festival, in Macau, Hong Kong and mainland China.

The local authorities did not provide any year-over-year comparison for the figures.

The Border Gate land crossing with neighboring Zhuhai in Guangdong province was the busiest entry point, accounting for 141,290 arrivals or 41.2% of the three-day total.

Another 80,086 visitors, or 23.4% of the total, crossed into Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. HT
