The Macau Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (MACA) honored 64 local students from 44 schools at this year’s MACA Music Scholarship Award Ceremony, with organizers aiming to attract traditional music talents and promote innovative music development across diverse creative fields.
During the event, João Gomes, chairman of the Board of Directors of MACA, said in his speech that MACA has been committed to nurturing local music talents for 16 years, and has continued to promote the development of Macau’s music creation and copyright through 14 years of scholarships, 10 years of the Songwriters Quest, and various copyright promotion activities each year.
According to a statement from MACA, this is the seventh year that MACA has established the “MACA New Original Music Award,” and the response to this scholarship program was “very positive,” with a significant increase in participants compared to last year, demonstrating Macau youth’s growing passion for music creation.
