In order to develop and help students with special needs, MGM and Fuhong Society of Macau recently launched a joint project to help polish up their employment skills in the hotel industry.
The MGM Vocational Training Room, located at Pou Lei Center of Fuhong Society of Macau, is a model of a hotel guest room featuring MGM design elements. Through this long-term vocational program facilitated by MGM Housekeeping trainers, Fuhong members can receive housekeeping training in highly realistic surroundings, mastering knowledge and skills in guest room cleaning while enhancing their communication skills with MGM’s housekeeping team members.
Wendy Yu, senior vice president of human resources at MGM, said “We believe every person is important and can play an active role in society. With the vocational training center, MGM is delighted to be part of their journey of building a self-sufficient life and making great moments for themselves and their family.”
Sands china, MGTO hold third celebrity mentor workshop
Sands China Ltd. and the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held the third instalment of the Celebrity Mentor Workshop Series at The Venetian Macao, led by former Hong Kong news anchor and television host Cheung Wai Tsz.
A professional communications trainer, Cheung delivered her well-attended Power Communication Skills workshop to a group of approximately 250 retail professionals.
The Celebrity Mentor Workshop Series was launched in October. The training program invites celebrity mentors to conduct customer service workshops for retailers in Macau, including employees of retail outlets at Sands Shoppes, Sands China’s four interconnected malls comprising of more than 850 retailers.
The workshops allow retail employees to learn from experts in their respective fields, better equipping them to provide the best experience for shoppers.
During the session, Cheung covered topics like communication psychology and building rapport with a diverse range of people. With an interactive training style, the workshop provided theory with practical skills and case studies for the attendees.
