MGM has worked with three different local associations in preparing for typhoon season. More than 400 emergency kits have been handed out to small-and- medium-size enterprises in low-lying areas, plus elderly people through The Neighborhood Association (UGAMM), the Women’s General Association of Macau and Caritas Macau.
Each of these kits contained first-aid supplies, a poncho, a whistle, a flashlight and a leaflet containing useful information.
Jiang Xuchun, Director of Seac Pai Van Family Support and Community Service Complex of UGAMM said, “The emergency kits are very considerate for including a comprehensive range of supplies to prepare elderly [people] for the upcoming typhoons and to raise their awareness of disaster prevention.”
Meanwhile, on a user’s perspective, an elderly person from UGAMM, Chan Sui Fu, said upon receiving a kit, “I find this kit very helpful, and I will store it somewhere accessible.”
Cheang Yat Hong, owner of Luen Heng Grocery expressed his gratitude. “Right after Typhoon Hato back in 2017, MGM offered a cloud data backup service to us, and they have been keeping in touch with us during the typhoon season to ensure our safety. I am truly thankful for all these caring acts, especially for the latest hand- delivered emergency kit.”
