Last weekend, 68 students of The International School (TIS) donned their caps and gowns to receive their Alberta High School Diplomas in front of family, friends, teachers and guests from government and private sectors, according to the school’s press release.
The Class of 2022 has received MOP8.1 million in scholarships and secured offers from 89 different educational institutions worldwide.
22% of students received offers from Top 30 Universities and 34% received offers from Top 50 Universities (according to 2022 QS World Rankings). Exhibited in this class are students from “a variety of emerging careers such as scientists, medical doctors, engineers, psychologists, educators, hotel managers, diplomats, artists and fashion designers.”
Head of School, Howard Stribbell, and Secondary School Principal, Lorne Schmidt, “delivered uplifting speeches to the graduating class. They congratulated them on their resilience during their school journey, especially during the world’s longest-running pandemic,” read the statement.
Valedictorian Jeya Verschuren “thanked parents and teachers for the support received” and spoke to her personal mantra of ‘never try, never know’.
According to the statement, Jeya highlighted “the beautiful memories and friendships formed during their time at TIS – something that each student will take with them as they go into this next exciting phase of their lives.”
