Sands China Ltd. recently presented ceremonial cheques totalling MOP 1.08 million to representatives of seven higher education institutions at a ceremony at The Venetian Macao, as part of the company’s ongoing support for higher education in Macau. It is the 16th consecutive year of the annual initiative, which provides scholarship and fellowship money to Macau tertiary institutions.
Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., said, “Sands China is pleased to continue our annual practice of supporting local tertiary education through these scholarship and fellowship donations. It is our hope that they will help nurture the growth of local youth and support the development of diversified talent in Macau, adding to Macau’s pool of human resources.”
Including this year’s donation, Sands China has donated MOP 13.5 million for tertiary scholarships and fellowships in Macau, which have benefitted almost 1,600 students since 2006.
