Having beautiful, flawless skin is every girl’s dream. These days, we are fortunate enough to have the latest technology available to fight spots, fine lines, scars and uneven texture. Recently, I had a talk with a government certified physician, Dr. Chan Man in her clinic located on Rua de Antonio Basto, about beautifying the skin. She recommended a laser treatment named Lumenis M22 Photofractional.
“Photofractional is a rejuvenation technology that combines Intense Pulsed Light with non-ablative skin resurfacing. Both skin tone and texture are treated simultaneously. The treatment works to stimulate deep collagen regeneration. After the first session, you will see a difference,” said Dr. Chan.
In regards to the pain involved, a topical numbing cream can be applied on the areas that are going to be treated. The treatment has no downtime, but some patients may experience redness or swelling, which will diminish after a few hours.
“It is essentially a ‘lunch time’ treatment. You can immediately go back to work, but to be safe, patients can come on a Friday, get it done, rest at home during the weekend. On the following Monday, the redness will be all gone,” Dr. Chan explained.
