Heroes-of-SteelNaming the ‘Heroes’ at Studio City

The Art Deco facade at Studio City will be flanked by two ‘Heroes of Steel’ statues, towering some 30 meters high, which will dominate the entrance to Macau’s new, USD3.2 billion, Hollywood-inspired entertainment destination resort.
According to a press release, the figures “constructed from stainless steel and weighing-in at 180 tons each, were partly inspired by the mythical ‘Atlas’; but rather than being weighed down by the world, these statues reach to the sky with lit ‘orbs’ in an uplifting futuristic tableaux as part of a ‘Hollywood Studio’ style entrance.”
Mr. JD Clayton, Property President of Studio City said: “Our ‘Heroes of Steel’ statues provide an iconic entrance to Studio City’s spectacular art deco-inspired façade, and are the dramatic gateway to the world-class entertainment to be experienced at Studio City.”

MGM supports IFT summer camp by offering guided tours to foreign students

image002In addition to the guided art tours of the property, MGM also offers support to various educational training programs by arranging hotel visits. On July 15, more than 20 Hong Kong high school students on the  “IFT Summer Camp 2015 – Knowing Macao’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry” program joined a guided tour at MGM Macau. Students were given a tour around the hotel front-of-house areas, an art tour of the “Valkyrie Octopus” exhibition and other art pieces, as well as the back-of-
house areas, for them to have a basic understanding of internal operations. MGM will continue to encourage local and foreign students to organize group visits with the objective of enriching their knowledge and inspirations on arts and culture.
