To encourage the use of induction cooking and to promote the concept of healthy eating, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) again presented its “Induction Cooker Lucky Draw” at this year’s Macau Food Festival. Lucky draw tickets were attached to Macau Food Festival cash coupons. Participants who answered questions correctly and put them into the lucky draw box could win one of 10 single-zone induction cookers.
The prize draw ceremony was held earlier in the Festival, presided by Chou Iok Leong and Elizabeth Chung, Executive Directors, as well as Lo Kam Kuan and Chow Yu Tang, Vice-Presidents of the United Association of Food and Beverage Merchants of Macau; and Jaclyn Iun, Manager of CEM’s Communications and Public Affairs Office. The ten lucky winners were: Tam Lai Ngo, Chang Wai Kit, Sio Son Chao, Lei Sio In, Cheong Lai Fan, Tjie Vil Son, Kuong Sut Ian, Ho Sou I, Che Ka Hou, and San Wai Fong. Winners were notified individually by CEM.
mgm announces five mors gold pin winners
MGM Macau employees were awarded with a total of five Gold Pin Awards, the most ever received for MGM. The award ceremony for the 2015 “Macao Occupational Skills Recognition System” (MORS) Gold Pin Competition Award Presentation Ceremony sponsored by the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) took place on December 2.
The “Macao Occupational Skills Recognition System” was launched in 2001 as a joint effort of the Tourism Industry of Macao and IFT, with the main objective to upgrade human resources in the industry through the introduction of a certification scheme for a number of hospitality and tourism professions. To reward and demonstrate outstanding MORS recognized professionals IFT has been organizing the Gold Pin Competition since 2002. The competition is a platform for contestants to demonstrate their professional skills and pit their talent against the best in the industry. This year, there were a total of 290 contestants representing 31 companies and 67 contestants were shortlisted for the finals.
etihad airways named air transport world’s airline of the year 2016
Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi-based national airline of the United Arab Emirates, was named Airline of the Year 2016 by the US-based aviation industry publication Air Transport World (ATW) at a ceremony on Friday night.
Etihad Airways was chosen by ATW’s editorial board out of entries from more than 100 airlines around the world. According to a press release, the award “recognizes Etihad Airways’ clear vision; its successful organic growth supplemented by a unique partnership strategy; its commercial focus which has delivered net profits in each of the last four years; the rapid growth of its highly motivated workforce; its development of innovative products and services, including The Residence by Etihad; and the airline’s strong executive leadership”.
