The University of Macau (UM) organized a study tour to Las Vegas in order to provide students with an opportunity to learn from Macau’s Western casino hub counterpart.
A group of 44 students toured three MGM properties in the Nevada city and met with a panel of the company’s senior management team to explore the gaming group’s non-gaming elements.
The University says that the opportunity allows students to broaden their horizon in the hospitality and gaming industry, and potentially transfer insights to the respective industries in Macau.
“Las Vegas is a city which excels in innovations and possesses extensive experience in managing MICE, show business and entertainment, which is the business model that Macau is trying to implement as a strategy to diversify its economy,” Davis Fong, associate professor at UM, said of the study tour.
