The Times has learnt that the current finance director of Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation, Stephen Law, is set to join Sands China as chief financial officer from September 29.
Law earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK in 1984, before joining Arthur Andersen as an accountant trainee. He later returned to Hong Kong in 1989 as an audit manager for the accountancy firm KPMG. After holding various other senior roles, he assumed the position of finance director of MTR Corporation in 2013.
He has also served as a council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 2010, an adjunct professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University more recently, and in 2014, was appointed as an expert consultant to China’s Ministry of Finance.

‘Sing! china’ films national day special at venetian macao

Hit reality TV show “Sing! China” thrilled audiences at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena on September 21 while filming a Macau-set episode for an upcoming China National Day television special, according to a statement from Sands China.
An on-stage singing battle saw four of China’s most popular singers – Jay Chou, Na Ying, Wang Feng and Harlem Yu – acting as celebrity mentors to 14 contestants, who performed their signature songs from season one of the show.
The most-viewed program in its prime time slot since first airing on July 15, “Sing! China” is a hugely popular singing competition and reality show, produced by Star TV and aired via Zhejiang Satellite TV.

Accorhotels launches triple hotel opening in anhui province

AccorHotels and Wanda Group have jointly announced the opening of three new hotels, Pullman, Novotel and Mercure, in Hefei, Anhui Province. The three hotels mark the next stage in the brands’ partnership with Wanda Group.
The latest project is a key development under the Hefei Wanda Cultural Tourism City venture, according to a statement from AccorHotels, and is the province’s largest hospitality investment with a total construction area of over 900,000 square meters.
