Angola | Emirates airlines takes over Taag management

International Flight Operations At Dusseldorf AirportThe  four executive directors appointed by Emirates airlines to serve on the board of the Angolan flagship air carrier Taag arrived Sunday in Luanda, reported Angolan National Radio (RNA).
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Taag, Joaquim Cunha, told the radio station that the new executive directors should take office soon, under the terms of an agreement signed in Dubai in 2014 between the government of Angola and Emirates.
Under the agreement Emirates will appoint the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAAG and three executive directors, of a total of nine members, but day to day management will be carried out by an Executive Committee composed of the executive directors appointed by Emirates for the commercial, operational, financial and administrative departments.
Speaking to RNA, Cunha ruled out the possibility of redundancies at Taag following the instatement of the new directors of the national flagship airline, although he acknowledged that the company has a large number of workers. MDT/Macauhub
