The Code of Ethics of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) will take effect this coming August. The document stipulates that the aim of CPAs is to defend the public interest and that CPAs are required to fulfil corresponding social responsibilities. CPAs should also uphold several principles, such as integrity, subjectivity, impartiality, independence and professionalism. Relevant exemptions to the duty of confidentiality are also stipulated, under which a CPA can make disclosures under certain conditions such as required by the law or with the consent of their clients.
IPIM trains MICE industry on social media marketing
The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute has recently invited Marlieke Kemp-Janssen, founder of online marketing firm Aureum Hospitality Advisers, to lead a workshop in the hopes of teaching local MICE professionals on how to pick the right social media platform, how to integrate online and traditional marketing strategies and expand the effectiveness and efficiency of their online marketing input. The main concerns of participants were related to pinpointing their target audience and picking the right platform for different marketing needs.
IC digitization library collection a constant task
Converting physical library collections to electronic copies is the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s (IC) constant task, Loi Chi Pang, chief of the Department of Public Library Management of the bureau has said. Last year, the IC established four databases for the task, and will source suitable collections for the databases. It will also establish an audiobook project targeting children, in the hopes the project can help children reduce their screentime.
