BRIEFS : Gov’t approves new building near Guia Hill

Macau’s government has granted two adjacent plots of land on the Avenida to Dr. Rogrigo Rodrigues and Alameda Dr. Carlos d’Assumpção, to “Companhia de Desenvolvimento Predial Son Ieng.” According to the Government Gazette, the land amounts to a block measuring 2,320 meters squared in total. The two plots will be combined into one lot, upon which a building for commercial and residential car parking will be constructed. The building will consist of a four-story basement and a six-story podium building, as well as two towers that are 22 and 25 stories high respectively.
After the building is finished, there will be a residential area of around 27,000 square meters, and a parking area measuring almost 9,000 square meters. Following the construction’s completion, the grantee will have to pay the government MOP10 per annum for every square meter of the residential gross floor area; MOP15 for every square meter of the commercial gross floor area; and MOP10 for every square meter of the parking space gross floor area.

Bastille Day celebrated in town

colunaThe Secretary for Administration and Justice, Florinda Chan, attended yesterday’s celebration of the French National Day in Macau, stating that the relationship between the Macao SAR and France has been sustainable. “We have been enjoying a mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of cultural exhibitions and exchanges, which certainly manifests a strengthened tie between both sides,“ said Florinda Chan. She added that France has made “assertive efforts towards the diversification of the local economy.” The ceremony was hosted by the French consul in Hong Kong and Macau, Arnaud Barthelemy.

Macau in the 6th Shenzhen Anime Festival

The 6th Shenzhen Anime Festival will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre from 16 to 20 July 2014. The Cultural Affairs Bureau will, once again, organize the participation in this event of local entities engaged in the comic and animation industry, and set a pavilion to introduce the development of these industries in Macau. Local participants will present their creations at the Macau Creative Pavilion, including original animation videos, mobile applications, illustrations, comic magazines and comic and animation related products.
