Cantopop legend Alan Tam held his latest “Alan Tam 40th Anniversary Concert Tour – Macau” at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena Saturday, delighting fans with his compositions, according to a press realease issued by Sands China.
The concert saw Hong Kong’s veteran singer performing his classics with new musical arrangements, including “A Song Is A Story” , “Those Touching Songs” and “Spring comes late.”
As cited in the Sands China press release, Tam said that he had enjoyed performing at the Cotai Arena and hoped he could perform again in the region.
To commemorate his 40th year in the music industry as a Cantopop singer, Tam kicked-off his latest tour in Hong Kong in 2015. Being a major figure in the Cantopop music industry as well as Hong Kong’s entertainment industry, Tam holds the record for having the most concerts in Hong Kong as a solo artist.
CEM holds camp for senior students
CEM held its “Experience Life without Electricity Camp” at Coloane Power Station over the weekend, with the aim of encouraging youngsters to learn about electricity and local power generation.
The Camp was open to teams of full-time Macau secondary school students between Form 4 and Form 6, with five to six people in a team. Members of each team could be formed by students from different schools. Since its launch, the Camp received a total registration of 36 teams, however only nine teams, with 50 students in total, were selected to participate through a draw.
The Camp included visits to CEM power generation facilities and the campers experienced living with power outages, said the electric company in a statement.
All participants received a certificate of completion and a set of souvenirs. The event also featured multiple awards, such as cash prizes and trips to Hong Kong Disneyland and Taiwan.
The Camp is co-organized by the Scout Association, Women’s Association of Macau and Youth Center of Macao Federation of Trade Unions.
