Corporate Bits | Sands China announces pay rise, discretionary bonus

Sands China is increasing the salaries of team members of “eligible grades” effective March 1, the company announced in a statement, “benefitting roughly 99 percent of Sands China’s total employment.”

According to the statement, employees that earn less than or equal to MOP12,000 per month (before tax) will be given a pay rise of MOP600. Those earning more than MOP12,000 per month (before tax) will receive an average of a 2.5 percent pay rise.

The company will also pay a discretionary bonus to all eligible full-time employees on February 13, to reward their contributions toward the company’s achievements.

From among nearly 28,000 eligible full-time employees, those who have completed a full year of service in 2017 will receive a discretionary bonus on February 13, equivalent to at least one month’s salary.

Hotel royal announces valentine’s day offer at fado

Hotel Royal is offering a special Valentine’s Day dinner menu at its Portuguese restaurant, Fado. Under the baton of Executive Chef Luís Américo, the restaurant will turn into a romantic stage featuring an elegant, delicious 4-Course Valentine’s Day Wine Pairing Menu, on offer between February 10 and 14.

Among the items included in the Valentine’s Day offering are zucchini carpaccio with salmon tartare, mango and strawberries; baked sea bass with fresh clams, coriander, sautéed shrimp and oven roasted tomatoes; and grilled tenderloin with pumpkin gnocchi and green pea mousse.

Desserts offered include passion fruit parfait with fresh fruits and chocolate textures, as well as complimentary hand-crafted Portuguese heart-shaped cookies made according to a traditional recipe.
