General Images Residential Properties In Macau Ahead Of GDP FiguresMacau’s total population for the end of the third quarter of 2015 was 643,100, according to data released by the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). This is a slight increase of 200 from the previous quarter. The slowdown in growth is being attributed to a low increase in the number of non-resident workers living in Macau, of which there are now 180,751, an increase of 228 over the previous quarter.
The female population of Macau accounted for 50.8 percent of the total, or 236,800 persons. There were 1,819 live births delivered in the third quarter for 2015, an increase of 9.4 percent quarter-to-quarter. The male-to-female ratio of newborns in the quarter stood at 107.4, meaning that 107.4 male babies were born for every 100 female babies. In the first three quarters of 2015, a total of 5,193 live births were recorded, slightly down by 81 year-on-year.
Meanwhile, deaths totaled 490, with a slight increase of 10 quarter-to-quarter. The top three underlying causes of death were neoplasms (188), diseases of the circulatory system (107) and diseases of the respiratory system (80).
In the third quarter of 2015, there were 1,982 Chinese immigrants and 405 individuals granted right of abode, up by 316 and 20 respectively from the previous quarter. The total number of non-resident workers (180,751) increased by 228 from the previous quarter.
A total of 862 marriages were registered in the third quarter, while for the first three quarters of 2015 combined there were 2,753 registrations, down by 316 year-on-year.
