The International Ladies’ Club of Macau (ILCM) held its Annual Christmas Charity Bazaar yesterday at the Grand Coloane Resort. This year’s theme, “Island’s Gift of Giving,” reflects ILCM’s commitment to philanthropy and festive celebration. The event featured a variety of activities designed to engage attendees and raise funds for local charities.
The bazaar began at 11 a.m. with an opening ceremony, followed by performances, including a unique “When East Meets West” instrumental show. Attendees enjoyed giant lawn games and choir performances from local schools, including the MAC and TIS choirs. The day rounded off in exciting activities such as tug-of-war competitions and a Santa show.
Ada Chan, director of Marketing and Communications for the Grand Coloane Resort, emphasized the event’s significance in her opening remarks. “It’s all about coming together for a bigger purpose—spreading goodwill and supporting those in need,” she stated. The collaboration between ILCM and the resort has been a tradition since it began in 2011.
ILCM president Jolene Zhao echoed Chan’s sentiments, expressing gratitude for the support from vendors and volunteers.
“The money we raised today is going directly to charities that help people in need this season,” Zhao said. She highlighted the importance of community involvement, noting that contributions made during the bazaar would significantly impact local charitable organizations.
Among the many charities supported by ILCM are the Cradle of Hope Association, Good Shepherd Centre, and the Holy House of Mercy, providing essential services ranging from child welfare to elderly care within the region. Nadia Shaw
