The Macau Rugby Club will host a rugby tournament Saturday where all proceeds will go to a local cancer charity organization.
The third Lusofonia Touch Rugby Tournament will be held at The International School of Macao from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m with a snack and bake sale also to be held – in bid to raise funds for a cancer charity organization.
“The goal is to promote rugby within the community […] and to raise awareness for cancer. We will be donating all proceeds to a local association who helps long term patients and their families,” Carla Pires Ascenção, a member of the club, told the Times.
“Participants can expect a fun day with lots of activities, numerous varieties of Lusofonia cakes and snacks, [and] maybe buy some gifts or win prizes from the lucky draw.”
In the previous tournaments the club held, the group raised approximately MOP25,000 and MOP45,000.
Also, organizers have said any donations of food should be wrapped in individual take home packaging and clearly labeled if they contain nuts. Staff Reporter
