The Notary Office, which is currently located in the city center in the historical Holy House of Mercy building at Senado Square, will move its offices to the Northern district, the president of the 1st standing committee of the Legislative Assembly (AL), Kwan Tsui Hang, revealed after the committee meeting.
Kwan said that the move is due to “greater demand for the service in the northern part of the city.”
António José de Freitas, president of the Board of Trustees of the Macau Holy House of Mercy, which is the institution that is renting the space to the government said: “If confirmed this would be very bad news for the Holy House. It would be a blow to our source of income.” He added that the institution has yet to receive any official notice from the government.
