The Secretary for Administration and Justice, Sonia Chan, has made assurances that the restructuring and reshuffling of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) is already in its final stage, according to a Radio Macau report. The secretary added that the main restructuring works will be completed by the year’s end.
Some of IACM’s duties will be reassigned to the Sports Development Board and the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC). Last month, Sonia Chan told lawmakers at the Legislative Assembly (AL), while discussing her cabinet’s action plan for this year, that restructuring public services’ “is a complex task, comprising of many functions, services and facilities, as well as [a comprehensive amount of] legislation.”
Ms Chan told Radio Macau that “the restructuring of IACM is almost complete. From our side, it’s in the final stage. We’ve already drafted proposals for administrative regulations.”
The secretary revealed that they’re also hoping to submit a preliminary proposal for the restructuring of the Legal Affairs Bureau and the Law Reform and International Law Bureau in June.
Ms Chan hopes that the main projects contributing to the restructuring of public services under her office’s supervision will be completed by the end of the year.
