Sands China Honours Long-Serving Team Members

Over 2,700 Sands China team members are celebrating their 20-year, 15-year or 10-year company anniversaries in 2024, with Sands China honouring them recently at ceremonies at Sands Macao, The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, and The Londoner Macao.

Among them were more than 1,200 founding team members who joined the company before May 18, 2004, when Sands Macao was opened. They celebrated their milestones at dedicated recognition ceremonies at Sands China properties in April and May.

They were personally recognised by Sands China Ltd. Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Wilfred Wong and Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Grant Chum at the ceremonies, where they extended Sands China’s gratitude for their loyalty and continuous contributions to the development of the company.

“With Sands Macao celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, it is the perfect time to recognise our founding team members, without whom Sands Macao could not have become the instant success that it was,” said Dr. Wong. “What’s more, those founding team members have shown incredible loyalty and dedication in helping the company to grow into what it is today, all the while witnessing their own professional development within the company. Many of them have taken a journey from front-of-house team members to executive leadership positions today. We are incredibly proud of them and grateful for their invaluable contributions to the success of Sands China and the development of Macao into a world centre of tourism and leisure.”

At the celebration for the founding team members, they were presented with a founder’s card, entitling them to lifelong Sands China benefits, alongside other commemorative gifts.

By the end of 2024, over 15,000 team members will have served Sands China for 10 years or more; among them, more than 6,600 and 1,500 will have worked at the company for more than 15 and 20 years, respectively. Meanwhile, the percentage of local residents on Sands China’s management team has witnessed significant growth over the years, soaring from 20 percent in 2004 to 92 percent currently. Female team members account for 46 percent of the entire management team.
