Sands China Ltd. held its third annual Sands Cares Global Food Kit Build Tuesday to benefit community partner Caritas Macau. More than 280 volunteers from Sands China and Caritas Macau gathered at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo to assemble 3,000 food kits containing 21 tons of staple foods.
The food kits, which each contain 18 items like rice, oil and canned goods, will be distributed to the elderly, disabled, poor families and food bank recipients in Macau through Caritas Macau service points in July and August.
“This event represents one of our most important contributions to the Macau community, as our team members once again demonstrated their commitment,” said Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd.
Addressing food insecurity is a key focus of Sands Cares. Sands China has partnered with Caritas Macau since 2022 to assist at-risk communities. Paul Pun Chi Meng, Caritas Macau secretary-general, thanked Sands China for organizing the effort and involving senior volunteers, helping fulfill basic needs.
